The Indiana Senate has passed a bill that would allow the State Budget Agency to use a $300 million fund to temporarily boost the Childcare Development Fund voucher program, which currently has a waitlist of 33,000 children.
The bill aims to create new CCDF vouchers by the beginning of the new fiscal year in July 2026.
The move comes after the Family & Social Services Administration announced a halt on new childcare vouchers until 2027 due to funding constraints.
