Meijer is recalling more than 38,000 gallons of water in stores across six states, including Indiana and Michigan.

The FDA says the recall is due to an unnamed “black foreign substance” found in Meijer Steam Distilled Water one gallon plastic jugs with red lids.

The impacted water has a sell-by date of October 4th, 2026.

The recalled water has lot code 39-222 #3, product ID 472859 and Meijer item code 477910.

The recall also includes stores Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio and Wisconsin.
