Two men in vehicle injured in Elkhart shooting

Elkhart police are investigating a shooting that left two people injured.

Officers were dispatched around 5:20 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 8, to the area near the Martin’s Super Market at 575 E. Jackson Blvd. after a 911 call reported a shooting with injuries, according to the Elkhart Police Department.

Police said two adult male victims later arrived at a local hospital with apparent gunshot wounds. Both were treated for injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

Investigators believe the victims were inside a vehicle when suspect or suspects in another vehicle opened fire, possibly near the intersection of East Lexington Avenue and Junior Achievement Boulevard. Authorities have not released information about a motive.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
