Elkhart murder suspect appears in court

A man facing attempted murder charges in Elkhart County has appeared in court.
Prosecutors say 37-year-old Jamarius Bryant, 37, led police on multiple pursuits across northern Indiana last October.
Elkhart Police say Bryant fled in a stolen SUV after officers tried to contact him at an apartment complex on Middlebury Street.
During that pursuit, investigators say Bryant drove through an alley where children were waiting for a school bus, striking two of them.
Police later say Bryant led Marshall County deputies on another chase, attempted to hit officers, and struck a vehicle carrying an adult and a child before being arrested.
Bryant faces two counts of attempted murder and resisting law enforcement.
His trial is set for May.
