Woman charged in crash injuring motorcyclists pleads guilty

A woman charged after a serious crash that injured two motorcyclists has pleaded guilty in Elkhart County Circuit Court. 

Rachel Sherman, then 20, of Elkhart, admitted to charges connected to the May 29 crash on State Road 19 south of Rosedale Drive.

Police say Sherman was intoxicated when the crash occurred, leaving an Elkhart couple on a motorcycle with significant injuries.

Sherman had faced multiple felony counts, including causing catastrophic injury while operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

The Goshen News says as part of the case proceedings, she entered a guilty plea. Her sentencing hearing is scheduled for May 28 in Elkhart County Circuit Court.
