Granger home gun sales permit receives favorable ruling despite neighbors concerns

A Granger homeowner is one step closer to operating a gun-related business out of his home.
The St. Joseph County Board of Zoning Appeals has voted to give a favorable recommendation for a special use permit requested by Jeremy Bontrager.
Bontrager says the permit would allow him to obtain a federal firearms license so he can run background checks when selling firearms.
WSBT says several neighbors spoke out against the proposal, citing safety concerns and neighborhood impact.
The request now heads to the St. Joseph County Council for a final decision.
