Planning is underway for the 100th Annual South Bend Westside Memorial Day Parade, with organizers aiming for their biggest celebration yet.

Community members are invited to participate by completing an official application online, as donations alone do not guarantee a spot in the lineup.

Volunteers are also needed for outreach, fundraising, staging and program distribution. Organizers say the event depends entirely on community support.

Scholarships will be awarded this year, and planning meetings are open to the public through May.

The milestone parade will honor veterans while bringing the Westside community together this Memorial Day.
