Man convicted in Benton Township arson-homicide case

A 25-year-old man has been convicted in connection with a deadly house fire that occurred in Benton Township in 2023.
Raymond J. Bogucki was found guilty of premeditated first-degree murder, felony murder, and first-degree arson in the death of 65-year-old Wendell Hill Jr.
Emergency crews responded to Hill’s home on Coolidge Avenue for a reported fire, where firefighters discovered him inside. He was pronounced dead at the scene after being removed from the residence.
Bogucki faces up to life in prison and is scheduled to be sentenced on May 5 in Berrien County Circuit Court.
