Lakeville residents worried about solar farm costs

People in Lakeville say they’re worried taxpayers could end up paying to clean up solar farms.
At a meeting Wednesday night, residents questioned whether the county set aside enough money to remove projects like the Honeysuckle Solar Farm when they’re done.
Some say a $250,000 bond approved in 2022 is far too low. They’re blaming two county leaders and calling for them to step down.
Neither showed up to the meeting.
A county councilman pushed back, saying the county has a much larger bond and taxpayers won’t be on the hook.

They really shouldn’t be called solar farms. They don’t grow anything.
Solar array field might be a better term.

A county councilman pushed back, saying the county has a much larger bond and taxpayers won’t be on the hook. Well then show us the bond and it’s current value. Back it up, the people want to see the evidence. And if those two county leaders don’t show up for the next meeting dock their pay, they work for the people, not the other way around.
