A woman has been arrested following a domestic dispute that left a man seriously injured early Tuesday morning.
Police were called just after midnight on March 31 to a home in the 500 block of Pearl Street after a report of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they found an adult male suffering from serious injuries.
Officers provided life-saving aid at the scene before the victim was taken by ambulance to Franciscan Health Hospital in Michigan City for treatment.
Police identified the suspect as 38-year-old Nicole Williams of Michigan City. She was taken into custody and faces preliminary charges of aggravated battery, a Level 3 felony, and domestic battery with a deadly weapon, a Level 5 felony.
Investigators executed a search warrant at the home and collected multiple pieces of evidence.
A probable cause affidavit has been submitted to the LaPorte County Prosecutor’s Office, which will determine formal charges.
