A two-vehicle crash in Cass County sent a woman and an infant to the hospital.
According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched around 6 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, to the intersection of M-60 and Dailey Road in Jefferson Township.
Investigators say a 22-year-old man from Coloma, identified as John Handlang, was traveling north on Dailey Road when he failed to stop at a stop sign and entered the intersection. His vehicle was then struck by a westbound vehicle driven by Sophia Smith.
Smith and her approximately 9-month-old passenger were taken by ambulance to Memorial Hospital in South Bend for treatment of injuries.
Factors the led to the crash remain under investigation.
