A Chicago man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to wire fraud.

40-year-old Vance White received 46 months in prison, followed by two years of supervised release, and must pay more than 264,000 dollars in restitution.

Court documents say White used counterfeit checks to buy merchandise, then returned those items to other store locations for cash refunds.

Investigators say the scheme spanned more than 25 states, including Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Minnesota over a four-year period.

Yet another serious crime resulting in a misdemeanor type punishment! This is crazy how criminals are getting light sentences for felonies. Plea bargain circus just so prosecutors ensure a win!
