Two men were injured in an early morning shooting outside a downtown bar, and a suspect has been taken into custody.

Officers responded around 3 a.m. on Subday, April 5, to El Imperial Bar, 113 S. Main St., after hearing gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, police located a 24-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officers provided immediate life-saving aid before the victim was transported to a South Bend hospital for treatment.

A second victim, a 25-year-old man, also sustained a gunshot wound and was taken to Goshen Hospital. Authorities say his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
