An Elkhart man has been sentenced following a major drug investigation.

Alberto Garcia was sentenced to 12 years after pleading guilty to dealing a Schedule I controlled substance, a Level 3 felony.

The sentence includes four years in prison, four years on Michiana Community Corrections, and four years on probation.

The Goshen News says additional charges were dismissed as part of the agreement.

Police say social media posts and surveillance linked Garcia to ongoing drug activity.

A search of his home uncovered thousands of grams of marijuana, THC cartridges, edibles, psilocybin products, firearms and more than $3,000 in cash
