The University of Notre Dame has taken sides in the President Trump vs Pope Leo XIV war of words.
President Trump publicly criticized Pope Leo XIV, calling the pontiff weak on crime and ineffective on foreign policy.
The remarks highlight a growing divide between the two influential figures, particularly regarding the ongoing conflict in Iran.
In response, the University of Notre Dame issued a statement from its president, Rev. Robert A. Dowd, expressing support for the pope. Dowd praised Pope Leo XIV for promoting human dignity and advocating for peace, calling his message one that rises above political divisions.
Dowd also encouraged members of the Notre Dame community to pray for peace and work toward a more just and humane world.

The pope should stay in his own lane. Nary a peep from the Pope when the Mullahs murdered tens of thousands. There are plenty of scriptures that deal with the type of bully we see in Iran. Bet the Pope wold object if an Iranian missile fall on the Vatican.

Notre Dame is a leftist school with vague trappings of religion… Much like the Pope, now that I think about it.
