Elkhart Community Schools is launching a new tuition-free option for students.

The Elkhart Virtual School is set to begin in the 2026, 2027 school year. Registration is now open for Indiana students in grades six through 12 seeking a more flexible learning environment.

The program offers asynchronous instruction, allowing students to complete coursework on their own schedule while staying connected with licensed teachers.

More than four hundred accredited courses will be available, and each student will receive an iPad for at-home learning.

School officials say the program is designed to support students balancing academics with work or family responsibilities while staying engaged and on track.
