Two Elkhart men were arrested on drunk driving charges following a head-on crash on County Road 13.

The crash happened around 9:35 p.m. on Friday, May 8, near County Road 16, according to investigators.

Police say a 2008 Honda Odyssey driven by 22-year-old Giovani Gonzalez Diaz was traveling south on County Road 13 when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with a northbound 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by 47-year-old Marco Onofre Sanchez.

Both vehicles suffered heavy front-end damage.

Authorities said both drivers were found to be intoxicated at the scene. Gonzalez Diaz complained of pain and was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment before being released and taken to the Elkhart County Jail.

Sanchez was not injured.

Police say Gonzalez Diaz was cited for OWI-Endangerment. Sanchez was cited for OWI-Endangerment and OWI-Prior.
