A marijuana dealer turned murderer will serve a total of 77 years in prison.

20-year-old Daqwan Jackson Burnett was sentenced Thursday for the March 2025 murder of 22-year-old Roosevelt Lewis III outside the Arbors at Riverbend Apartments.

Family members on both sides gave emotional statements during sentencing. Lewis’ family described him as a loving father and protector, while Jackson Burnett’s mother spoke about his troubled past and mental health struggles.

The Goshen News says the judge called Jackson Burnett a “drug-dealing thug” and sentenced him to 61 years for murder, plus 16 years for using a firearm.
