Body found in Little Paw Paw Lake identified as Benton Harbor man

Authorities have identified a man whose body was found in Little Paw Paw Lake.

According to the Coloma Township Police Department, officers were called to the lake just before 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, after a fisherman discovered a small boat floating without anyone inside.

Police say the fisherman approached the boat and found a man floating near lily pads before calling 911. The fisherman then brought the body to a nearby dock.

The victim was identified as 64-year-old James Kraklau of Benton Harbor.

Investigators determined Kraklau had been fishing alone and apparently fell into the lake. Foul play is not suspected.
