Chicago man arrested after theft at Goshen cat café

A Chicago man was arrested following a theft investigation at a Goshen business.
Police say officers responded just after 4 p.m. on Friday, May 8, to Catitude Café in the 200 block of South Main Street after a reported theft. According to investigators, 55-year-old Brenda Summers of Goshen told officers that two men entered the café and used a fraudulent transaction to gain access to an unattended cash register.
Police later located the suspects. Following an investigation, 26-year-old Deshawn Perry of Chicago was arrested on preliminary charges of theft and fraud.
Perry was taken to the Elkhart County Jail.
