A bridge failure has shut down a section of Cassopolis Road in Cass County.

The Cass County Road Commission says the road is closed immediately between Zion Street and Osborn Street after the bridge failed.

Drivers are being detoured onto Mt. Zion Street, Robinson Road and Osborn Street.

Emergency services and local schools have been notified about the closure.

Officials are warning residents not to try to drive through the closed section of road.\

There’s no word yet on when the road will reopen.
