Flagger struck by vehicle at U.S. 12 and Adamsville Road

A construction flagger was injured after being struck by a vehicle Monday afternoon in Cass County.

Police say the crash happened just before 2 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 12 and Adamsville Road while construction crews were working nearby.

Investigators say a 20-year-old Edwardsburg man was attempting to turn south onto Adamsville Road when he struck a 41-year-old flagger from Augusta, Michigan.

The victim was treated at the scene before being taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the flagger was wearing a reflective safety vest at the time of the crash.

Investigators say heavy rain and storm conditions may have limited visibility.

The incident will be reviewed by the Cass County Prosecutor’s Office.
