LaPorte woman recovering after tree falls onto SUV

A LaPorte woman is recovering after a tree fell onto her SUV Monday morning.

According to the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office, the 37-year-old woman was driving north in the 3100 block of Fail Road when a large tree fell onto her GMC Acadia.

Police say the woman became trapped inside the vehicle and had to be rescued by first responders.

She was later airlifted to the hospital for advanced medical treatment.

Authorities did not release details about her injuries but said she “miraculously survived.”
