Charges have been filed against a man accused in an alleged knife threat incident on Monday at the University of Notre Dame.
Court documents filed Tuesday, May 19, identify the suspect as Alan Arceneaux.
According to investigators, officers responded to Stinson-Remick Hall after a woman reported being threatened by a man with a knife.
The woman told police she was sitting in a room when Arceneaux entered. She stated the room required keycard access, but a door block had been keeping the door open. She alleges Arceneaux removed the block, shutting and locking the door behind him.
The woman told investigators Arceneaux attempted to close the blinds before allegedly ordering her to close them herself.
According to court records, another person then entered the room, prompting Arceneaux to put the knife away. He allegedly asked where the restroom was before leaving.
Police later located Arceneaux carrying a folding knife and a BB gun. Court documents state that when officers showed him still images from security video, he acknowledged he was the person shown in the footage. Arceneaux allegedly told officers he was looking for a restroom and did not remember details about the incident.
Additional court filings show Arceneaux is also facing a separate charge of domestic battery committed in the presence of a child under the age of 16.
No court date has been scheduled.
