Chicago Cubs legend and 2016 World Series champion Ben Zobrist will return to South Bend Cubs for a special appearance at Four Winds Field on Saturday, July 25.
The South Bend Cubs will host the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, with gates opening at 5:30 p.m. Zobrist will take part in a private VIP meet-and-greet during the game.
The event will be held inside the new 11/11 Club presented by Bacardi, located in the South Bend Cubs Event Building in the left field corner of Four Winds Field. The VIP package includes a private meet-and-greet with Zobrist, one autograph and a two-hour all-you-can-eat barbecue buffet.
Food options will include pulled pork, brisket, mac and cheese, coleslaw, cornbread and cookies, along with soda and water. Tickets are $125 per person and are limited to 100 guests.
Part of the proceeds will benefit Champion Forward, the nonprofit organization founded by Zobrist following his retirement from Major League Baseball. The organization focuses on helping athletes, parents and coaches promote mental and emotional wellness in youth sports.
The appearance will also mark the 10-year anniversary celebration of the Chicago Cubs’ 2016 World Series championship. Zobrist was named World Series MVP in 2016 after helping lead Chicago to its first title in more than a century.
Zobrist last appeared in South Bend during a rehab assignment with the South Bend Cubs in August 2019. During his brief stint with the team, he recorded two hits and an RBI before continuing his rehab stops with other Cubs minor league affiliates.
Tickets for the VIP meet-and-greet go on sale Thursday, May 21, at 10 a.m. More information is available through the South Bend Cubs box office.
