Crossroads United Way is investing nearly 845-thousand dollars into Elkhart County programs this month.

About 187,000 dollars will help organizations provide emergency assistance for food, medication, and utility bills.

The remaining funds will support programs focused on financial stability, youth opportunities, and healthy communities.

United Way leaders say many local families are struggling with rising costs and layoffs in manufacturing.

The organization says the funding is aimed at helping families meet immediate needs while building long-term support systems.
