The South Bend Police Department’s Peer Support Team has organized an online meal train to support the family of LaPorte County Sheriff’s Deputy Jon Samuelson as he recovers from injuries sustained in Friday’s shooting in Michigan City.

Organizers say the meal train is intended to help provide meals and support for the Samuelson family during the deputy’s recovery.

Community members interested in helping can sign up through the online meal train page, which includes additional information about the family’s needs.
