The City of South Bend and Dismas House of Indiana have secured a matching grant to expand recovery housing in the community.
The grant is coming from the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration. The state will match up to $195,700 from the city’s opioid settlement funds, bringing the total investment to nearly 400-thousand dollars.
The funding will help Dismas House purchase a second residential property for people transitioning from incarceration and working through recovery.
Mayor James Mueller says the project will expand access to stable housing and support services.
