A South Shore Line train collided with a vehicle Tuesday night at the Country Club Road railroad crossing in St. Joseph County.

The Saint Joseph County Fire Territory was dispatched to the crossing just off Edison Road near U.S. 31 shortly after 11 p.m.

WSBT reports when crews arrived, they found a vehicle had been struck by a South Shore train at the crossing. Authorities said the vehicle’s sole occupant was able to get out and move away from the tracks before the train hit the vehicle.

No injuries were reported to the driver, train passengers, or crew members.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
