Whirlpool Corporation is marking Juneteenth by giving back to its hometown community.

The company’s fifth annual Day of Impact takes place Thursday in Benton Harbor, where dozens of Whirlpool employees, school officials and city leaders will help transform outdoor basketball courts at Benton Harbor High School.

The project includes two new courts, upgraded equipment, bleachers, landscaping, improved accessibility and a new turf practice field. Organizers say the renovated space will support physical education classes and athletic programs for years to come.
