Indiana’s congressional delegation is backing a proposal to bring the F-35A fighter jet mission to Fort Wayne.
Members of the delegation have sent a letter to Air Force Secretary Troy Meink urging the Air Force to consider the Indiana Air National Guard’s 122nd Fighter Wing as a future home for the aircraft.
The lawmakers cited the unit’s recent successful transition from the A-10 to the F-16 and its record of operational readiness.
The letter was signed by both of Indiana’s U.S. senators and every member of the state’s congressional delegation.
