Nappanee woman airlifted after workplace collision

A woman was seriously injured after being struck by a truck outside a Nappanee business on Thursday morning, June 18.

Emergency crews were called to Williamsburg Furniture on Cheyenne Street around 4:50 a.m. Police say a 66-year-old woman was hit by a truck driven by a 31-year-old co-worker as employees were arriving for work.

The victim suffered significant injuries and was airlifted from the Nappanee Airport to Memorial Hospital in South Bend. Her current condition has not been released.

The driver was not hurt, remained at the scene, and is cooperating with investigators. The incident remains under investigation.
