The Community Foundation of Elkhart County has approved more than $1.3 million in grants to support nonprofits across the county.

The largest awards include $500,000 to support the merger of CAPS and Maple City Health Care Center, and a $200,000 challenge grant for Ronald McDonald House Charities’ Rooftop Backyard campaign.

The foundation says the funding will strengthen services for families, career pathways, placemaking projects, and community partnerships, with the next grant deadline set for August 21.
