A Berrien County site has been identified as contaminated with PFAS, also known as “forever chemicals.”

The contamination was found at a former Bendix Corporation and Allied Automotive property along Red Arrow Highway south of St. Joseph.

State agencies are now reviewing nearby residential wells and plan to conduct testing.

According to WSJM, officials say possible filters or other remedies could be offered to homeowners depending on the results.
