Rezoning request for Brisol properties brings large crowd

A standing-room-only crowd packed St. Mark’s Church in Goshen Thursday for a rezoning request.

The Elkhart County Plan Commission heard a rezoning request for two controversial Bristol properties.

More than 100 people attended, with some lining up as early as 1 p.m. Petitioners want the land rezoned to a Detailed Planned Unit Development, which would add specific conditions while still allowing a data center.

According to WSBT, many Bristol residents spoke out against that possibility, saying they want the land rezoned in a way that would prohibit a data center altogether.
