LaPorte Community Schools are planning what could become Indiana’s first Data Center Academy.
The district is partnering with Microsoft and Ivy Tech Community College to launch the program during the 2027-2028 school year.
Students will earn college credit while training on data center equipment provided by Microsoft, preparing them for careers at the company’s new LaPorte campus.
School officials also say Microsoft’s investment will provide millions in property tax revenue to the district over the next two decades.
