Elkhart Police are investigating a shooting that left one man seriously hurt.

Officers were called to the 400 block of State Street around 7:20 Tuesday evening after a report of shots fired. They found an adult man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The victim was treated at the scene before being taken to the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.

Police collected evidence and an arrest was announced by midday on Wednesday.
