The South Bend Police Department will host its 19th annual Indiana Fallen Officer Blood Drive on Thursday, July 23, in partnership with the South Bend Medical Foundation.

The blood drive will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the department’s training division on the west side of the building.

While walk-in donors are welcome, appointments are encouraged through the South Bend Medical Foundation’s online donor portal.

The foundation says it is especially in need of O-positive and O-negative blood donations.

Everyone who donates will receive a Chick-fil-A sandwich and can also participate in the South Bend Medical Foundation’s July “A Pint for a Pint” promotion, which provides a free pint of Culver’s frozen custard for each pint of blood donated.
