Dowagiac District Library closes due to bed bug

The Dowagiac District Library closed after a bed bug was discovered inside the building.
Library officials say a patron spotted the bug in a chair on Wednesday, July 29, prompting the library to close and alert the public.
A pest control company inspected the building Friday morning to determine the extent of the problem and determine  the proper treatment.
An entomologist with Terminix says bed bugs can turn up in any public space because they can be carried in by visitors.
