An investigation is underway after a reported home invasion in Granger ended with gunfire.

St. Joseph County Police were called to a home on Tarrington Way just before 2 a.m. Monday, near Knollwood Country Club.

The homeowner told 911 dispatchers he shot someone who had broken into the house. Investigators say at least one shot was fired, but the person believed to have been struck was no longer at the scene when officers arrived.
