The South Bend Police Department is actively investigating a homicide on the city’s northwest side.

On Monday, Aug. 3, around 4:50 p.m., South Bend Police were called to the 1000 block of College Street on the report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a victim with an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
