Shelter-in-place lifted after man’s arrest in Rochester

A man is in custody following an armed incident that prompted a shelter-in-place order in Fulton County.

Deputies were called to the area of McCarty Lane and Olson Road in Rochester around 5:50 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13.

Investigators say 25-year-old Christian Sanderson got into a fight with another man and allegedly pulled a gun.

The weapon fired as another person tried to disarm or redirect it.

Authorities say Sanderson later fired the gun while running toward the road. No one was shot, although one person was hurt during the fighting.

Sanderson was later arrested without further incident and the shelter-in-place order was lifted.
