State Road 2 Diverging Diamond interchange construction to begin

Drivers in LaPorte County should expect changes along State Road 2 beginning Monday.
INDOT says contractor Milestone Contractors will begin work on a new interchange at State Road 2 and Larrison Boulevard and Strawberry Road.
Starting Monday, the westbound passing lane on S-R 2 will close.
Drivers can expect additional lane shifts and closures as construction continues, but at least one lane will remain open in each direction.
Access to Larrison Boulevard will be limited to right turns in and out, while Strawberry Road will close south of S-R 2.
The project will replace the current intersection with a diverging-diamond interchange, including two bridges and four ramps.
Construction is expected to continue through 2027, with the new interchange scheduled to open in late 2027.
INDOT is urging drivers to slow down, pay attention to changing traffic patterns and allow extra time through the work zone.
