A judge has granted an amended complaint in a civil lawsuit against a former Triton High School teacher who pleaded guilty last year to child seduction.
The lawsuit was filed by the former student and the student’s family against Zachary Whittaker. It alleges he groomed the student between 2022 and 2024 and that a sexual relationship began in 2023.
The lawsuit also claims the school did not promptly report allegations after the student’s friends shared concerns with a guidance counselor in 2024.
No future court date has been announced.
