A seven-year-old South Bend boy who went missing at Silver Beach in St. Joseph, has died.

Authorities began searching for the child around 9 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 31, with the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office and St. Joseph Department of Public Safety involved in the search.

The boy was located nearly an hour later and rushed to hospital after first responders on-scene performed C-P-R and other life-saving measurers.

The boy passed away shortly after 11 p.m. on Monday.
