Mission completed for mountain goats in Mishawaka

The mountain goats that spent the past month clearing invasive plants along the St. Joseph River in Mishawaka are heading home.

Tuesday was their final day in the city.

The goats were brought to the Riverwalk area last month to help remove overgrown and invasive vegetation along the riverbank.

Mishawaka Parks said the goats helped improve views of the river, support the health of the ecosystem and bring people together.
