A Michigan man was arrested on Thursday night, Sep. 10, following a multi-county pursuit involving a stolen vehicle.

Indiana State Police say a trooper spotted the stolen truck on U.S. 24 near Peru and attempted a traffic stop. The driver, identified as 33-year-old Shane Morton, did not stop, leading officers through Fulton and Marshall counties.

The pursuit ended after the truck struck a tire deflation device on State Road 17. Police say the vehicle left the roadway and hit trees near Sage Trail in Marshall County.

Morton was taken to a hospital for treatment before being booked into the Miami County Jail. He faces preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement, theft and reckless driving.
