Indiana officials say they do not expect a major expansion of the counties approved for federal disaster aid after last month’s severe storms and flooding.

FEMA has approved assistance for 21 counties, while Governor Mike Braun says more than $100 million in aid has already been distributed.

State officials say crews have removed nearly 80,000 cubic yards of storm debris from 33 communities. Another estimated 190,000 cubic yards still needs to be cleared.

About 14 counties remain under FEMA review, but the governor says it is unlikely many additional counties will qualify.
