Michigan City Schools Employee Faces Fraud Charge

A Michigan City Area Schools employee is facing a felony fraud charge after allegedly using nearly four-thousand dollars in district money for unauthorized personal purchases.
Nicole Santana is accused of using a school-issued credit card for purchases including alcohol, groceries, restaurant meals and other expenses.
According to court documents, district officials discovered nearly four-thousand dollars in questionable charges.
Santana allegedly told officials the card had been connected to her Apple Wallet.
The total amount allegedly misappropriated was three-thousand-986 dollars.
Santana is scheduled for a dispositional hearing October 26th.
