LaPorte County Student Arrested With Gun, Drugs

An 18-year-old is facing felony and misdemeanor charges after police allegedly found a gun and drugs in his vehicle on school property in La Porte County.
Nayden Thornton was arrested Thursday morning after officers were called to South Central Community School Corporation because of a report of a suspicious student.
A sheriff’s deputy allegedly found a firearm in Thornton’s vehicle.
Thornton is charged with possession of a firearm on school property, along with possession of a controlled substance and marijuana.
He remains in custody at the La Porte County Jail.
